A Baraat is a celebratory procession of the groom, his family and his friends to the wedding venue. The groom generally comes on horseback to wed his bride. The baraat is generally accompanied by a lot of music, dance and fun. Of late, there is a lot more pomp and fervor to this custom. The traditional horse is sometimes replaced by some really fancy vintage cars, or giant elephants or any other means that catches the fancy of the couple. Band, live music, live DJ sets, Dhol, and a good amount of dancing makes the baraat ceremony memorable and enjoyable.
